In Unreferenced Space Series, Sönmez focuses on new horizons that an abstract language will open in a non-objective area and draws attention to the processes of sensing 2 and 3 dimensional surfaces.
The artist, who aims to show the stages of the transition from 2 to 3 dimensions in perception, allows the viewer to construct his/her own abstract space with the artworks that do not directly reference any object or space we see in daily life.
